Ok, so I recently posted a post while I was on the road to Richmond, VA for the VA Stand Up Concert that was hosted by R&B singer Chris Brown. Now that I'm back home, I can comment on it. In all, the concert was AMAZING.

The show opened up with a comedian: Comedian Ron G who kept the crowd laughing while we waited for the performers to hit the stage. The line up was Ryan Leslie, Tank, Bow Wow, Mario, T-Pain, Keri Hilson, Trey Songz. They kept the crowd excited, singing, dancing and screaming until Chris Brown finally hit the stage.

Chris Brown....what can I saw about Chris Brown? Just like the countless times I actually saw Chris perform live,he delivered. He sung songs from all of his Cd's (Chris Brown, Exclusive, Graffiti)such as Run It, Gimme That, Yo, Ain't No Way, Wall to Wall, Kiss Kiss, Take You Down , I Can Transform Ya and even his mixtape (In My Zone) No Bullshit, Big Booty Judy and Sex (in which he brought a girl on stage and was singing to her...i was jealous). He sung his verse to songs he was featured in like Drop It Low (Ester Dean). Then he took time out to stop singing and had a dance break. then after the dance break, he brought out rapper Tyga and they performed songs from their mixtape Fan of a Fan (released 5/17/2010) such as Holla @ Me. Chris' last song of the night was Forever. After performing Forever, he didn't automatically leave the stage. He took a few seconds to thank everyone and he sent out a personal message to his fans. "To my fans, I let you down before, I wont ever do it again. Thank You." After he made the message to his fans, I screamed "You didn't let me down Chris." That's when he walked off the stage and the show was over.

I think I've seen Chris Brown in person at least 10 times, maybe more. But on Saturday, i felt the same way I feel every time i see him perform: I didn't want it to end. I wanted him to keep singing and dancing and talking. I NEVER leave a Chris Brown concert disappointed. every time I go to a concert, I sing his songs at the top of my lungs because that's what Chris does to me. He makes me want to sing along with him. It seems that Chris has that effect on people. And when i leave the concert, I tell myself I have to go to the next one.

Now Chris is getting ready to leave the country to embark on his Fan Appreciation Tour in South America and Europe. I'm not exactly sure when he'll be back to the States, but I cant wait. I definitely cant wait until the next concert because I will be there singing, dancing, and supporting Chris Brown.

One day, (I always say this) I will get the chance to meet Chris Brown and tell him how much he has an effect on me. But until then, I'll just continue to go to his concerts and show it.
***And if youve never been to a Chris Brown concert, you need to get to one ASAP.***

I'm updating my blog from a Greyhound bus to Richmond,Virginia. Why Virginia? To go to a concert. But not just any concert, its a Chris Brown concert. But not just any Chris Brown concert, a benefit concert. The Stand Up VA concert is a benefit concert that will raise money for different organizations such a Haiti relief, Red Cross relief and other helpful organizations in and out of Virginia.
Brown wanted to hold a benefit concert because he saw that his hometown needed help and why not do something about it. He combined what he loves to do,music and what needed to be done, help out. When announcements of this concert were made, Brown was criticized because people thought it was just as a publicity stunt and for him to make money. But before hearing the full details of the concert, the didn't know that all proceeds from the concert such as concert ticket sales and auctions were going to several charities.
Brown has been through a lot and has been criticized for the past year and few months for his incident with then girlfriend Rihanna. People still look at Chris as a violent person and shouldn't be forgiven, but some are just being hypocritical. Those people, even those that were Chris Brown fans prior to the incident and are no longer fans should look at the good and positive he has done.
Since day one, in the "Run It" days, I have been a fan and supporter. And I have shown it in many ways. Now today (May 14, 2010), with leaving from Philadelphia,PA to go to Richmond,VA has proven to be another way of showing my support and love. RICHMOND, VIRGINIA... GET READY FOR ME AND MY TWO FRIENDS! HERE WE COME.

Last night on April 13, 2010, I finally saw one of my favorite bands N.E.R.D perform. For the longest I have wanted to see them in person and yesterday I finally had the chance to. Performing at Temple University's Spring Fling 2010, N.E.R.D hit the stage and performed some songs including Bobby Jean, She Wants to Move, Sooner or Later Spaz and a single from their upcoming album called Hot and Fun . The group interacted with the crowd and the energy was UP. Every song they performed had the crowd moving, jumping up and down, dancing, acting crazy and just having fun. There are people who don't listen to N.E.R.D or don't exactly know who they are. Those people need to find out because they are missing out on a whole lot.

Their opening act, The Right Coast, weren't bad either. I liked their performance and their songs were pretty catchy. I want to see more of them. If you Google them, you can find out who they are. They're pretty good. Good job you guys.

And to N.E.R.D: Come back to Philly soon and I can't wait for the next CD. And we LOVE you!

Fans of Chris Brown have been waiting and anticipating for this... the return of Chris Brown on Twitter. Today on Thursday March 11, 2010, Chris returned to the popular site. As a Chris Brown fan, I am happy to say congrats to the other fans/supporters that came together on Twitter last night and today to support Chris and to get his singles to be played on local radio stations again.

I previously wrote something about the Chris Brown incident and how he should be forgiven. Readers, realize that Chris did make a huge mistake, but also realize that he is human and needs to be forgiven. People need to look past the negative ways that Chris is shown in. Chris is an amazing entertainer and people need to realize that.

It has come to my attention, not recently, but along time ago, that radio stations have been banning Chris Brown. Meaning radio stations are not playing his songs. I don't appreciate the fact that Chris is not on the radio as often as other artists are.

NOTE : Chris Brown fans, listen up. We have to get Chris back onto the airwaves (radio and TV). We have to get Chris back to the award shows (Grammys, BET, etc.) We need to get Chris back to where he needs to be, the top. It can happen if we all work together. We can start off by requesting his songs. ALL of them to our local radio stations. Call, text, email, do whatever you have to do to get Chris Brown back to where he belongs. So fan appreciate your a*s to the phone or the computer NOW. Thank You!

OK, I am back. I've been gone for a minute, but I'm back.While I was gone, I've had time to gather some information and opinions.

Starting with one of my favorite music artists, Lady Gaga.
There has been rumors going around for a while now about Lady Gaga being a man. Website, Mediatakeout.com obtained photos of Gaga that she was taking for a British magazine. Here's the photo MTO has:

I don't know what all that is about, but this picture that was taken is a HORRIBLE one. If anyone has saw any of Lady Gaga's videos or performances, her clothing is often limited. Tiger Woods:
Tiger Woods did his little press conference late last week. Even after doing what people were waiting for him to do, which was to apologize, he is still being criticized. So what if his speech was rehearsed and if people don't think he was sincere enough. It doesn't matter. He apologized for his actions and the results his actions resulted in.

Charlie Sheen:
All I have to say about Charlie Sheen is, I hope you get better and everything will be okay.

On to the people that I find most annoying at the moment: Heidi and Spencer Pratt:

UGH. I can't stress it enough. These two "celebrities" are so annoying. I don't understand how much these two want to be in the spotlight. I want to know why they wont go out and get real jobs to get into the spotlight, like acting or modeling or something else other than media whoring, because the last time I checked, that wasn't a job. Cute dress and shoes by the way Heidi.

Don't Pick, But Embrace.

I'm the type of person that can laugh at myself and at those around me. I'm the type of person that will laugh at myself and if a person(mainly a friend) makes a joke about me, I'll laugh. I don't take things to personal and I can take a joke. I'll even give a person props for the joke. But the only thing I can't take and won't laugh at is being called "fat."

True story, one time in high school, another girl made a comment about my size. Her exact words were "At least I'm not fat like you." WHOA! My reaction, which was a reaction of anger, was the first time that my friends and associates have really seen me get mad.

Another true story, I was in my friend's room with her and one of our male friends. I don't recall what they were talking about but he told me to come over to him and I did. It had something to do with my stomach and he wanted to see it. I quickly said "NO." He asked why and I finally came out to saying I was self-conscience about my body. He and my female friend asked me why did I feel this way, and I didn't really know why but now I know. I'm not comfortable with my body, along with many other girls in the world. I think the reason why I take being called fat is because sometimes I do think I'm fat. And because of that, sometimes I think I'm unattractive. And sometimes, when I'm alone, I get sad or upset at myself because I feel this way. I've gotten many compliments on my body by people and I appreciate them. But when someone calls me fat it sticks with me and it freaks me out.

When I was in high school, I played sports (field hockey and softball) and I started slimming down a little. And now that I think about it, during those two years that I played sports, I felt good about myself. But now, I think that I've gotten lazy and I don't feel to good about that. I'm the type that doesn't let things get to me easily, but comments on my weight, I take it and I keep it. But I have to keep reminding myself that I shouldn't be that way.

Before, I found myself standing in my room, in front of my mirror picking myself apart. I picked at the things that I didn't like about myself. Before, I found myself skipping dinner every now and then. I never got to the point to where I starved myself for days at a time (I never starved myself)which is common among people some people. But all that has stopped. Now I find myself standing in my room in front of my mirror pointing at the things that I like/love about myself. I've grown to love myself and my body. I've learned to appreciate my body, and I think that others should too.

Here's my advice to other people, specifically teenage girls: Instead of pointing out what you think is bad, point out the good because it's most likely the good outweighs the bad. Embrace everything about yourself and don't let others bring you down and make you feel less about yourself.

Anybody that personally know me, know that I LOVE me some Chris Brown. I wrote this maybe Feb 5, 2010 after recognizing it was about to be a year since his hugely publicized assault against Rihanna. It's a little long, but if you can handle it then go ahead and read it.

One year ago, the world heard the news about Chris Brown. One year ago, people couldn’t believe what he had done and they turned their backs on him. One year ago, radio stopped playing his songs and TV channels stopped playing his videos. One year ago, the proudest of fans, the fans that said they would forever love him, ripped him off of their walls. The time that he needed support, the ones who he expected it from weren’t there. One year ago, as a fan of Chris Brown, I was shocked, but I didn’t turn my back on him. 5 years ago, I became a fan of Chris and I remained one during his darkest time, and I remain one today. One year later, I am still the Chris Brown fan that was when I first heard “Run It”. I STILL listen to his songs, I still have my pictures, and signed stuff. Chris Brown was at the TOP of everything and in one moment, he fell, believed to never to be able to redeem himself. One year ago, people said or thought that you might see Chris in the supermarket asking you if you want “paper or plastic”. Those people we’re wrong and remain wrong. One year ago, people forgot that Chris Brown was human, and because of that he was supposed to be excused from making mistakes. Its not hard to forgive a person and Chris Brown needs to be forgiven. Like you and I, he is not perfect.

In December, Chris released his 3rd Album Graffiti. Stores that sold CDs didn’t sell Chris CD. They thought that with them not selling Graffiti, that would get rid of Chris. BUT IT DIDN’T. Doing that emphasized the love that people had for him. Not selling Chris CD was not going to result in his career being over. Because as you can see, its not. Its not over until Chris Brown says its over. But anyway, it has been a year and people are still on Chris back. Those people need to realize, that he has apologized, constantly; that he is working on himself as a person; He made a mistake and he is dealing with the consequences. Of course there will be those that will criticize him, but understand that Chris will not stop because of you, because he has supporters.

It seemed that whenever Chris did an interview, the interviewers just focused on the incident that happened a year ago. They didn’t talk about his music, or how he was doing, or how he came up with the CD concept. They focused on the negative. I was hoping that I would here something about him or the CD, besides the date of the release. It was like hearing the same interview over and over and over. Now one year later, after the known incident, he is still being criticized for what happened that day but people are still blind on what needs to be focused on. Chris Brown is an artist and an entertainer and it seems that those people forgot that. He makes music for those who want to listen. And for those who don’t want to, you NEED to. Listen to his CD’s Chris Brown, Exclusive, Graffiti. Look at his videos. Go see him in a concert. Listen and see what this man is doing because its amazing.

To the haters and those who keep harassing Chris, I say, KISS HIS A*S. Media, stop approaching Chris with the negativity and hop off. Nobody has time for it and its starting to get annoying. People, get past what the media WANTS you to believe about Chris. Those who dislike Chris because he hit a woman, realize that he is not the first or the last. Realize that if it were you in the situation, you would want forgiveness and for people to look past the negative. Stop being hypocritical.

I have put my 1 year of thoughts into something small. Since February 8, 2009, I defended him. Since the summer of 2005, I am still a fan. And if Chris Brown needs my support, he has it.

Do What You Want..

For the longest, I have been the type of person to do things to make others happy. For example, when deciding to go to college, I chose to major in Nursing to beomce a Registered Nurse (RN). I chose this because it was basically pushed on me, by my mom. Dont get me wrong, I wanted to be a Nurse, and I wanted to help people, but I realized I only majored in Nursing because of the pressure.

When in high school, I wanted to be a journalist, even thought about joining the school's newspaper and morning news team. But I did'nt find the time because of sports and work. Now, after completing a semester and a half, working to get into the Nursing program, I realize that I want to do journalism again. I realized that I didnt want to be a RN and that I wasnt ready.

In short, I told my mom that I was changing my major. I was so scared to tell her because I was afraid of how she would react. But I had to do it. But i had to tell myself that it doesnt matter if she got mad or upset. I had to tell myself that I have to make my own decisions and not let others make them for me. I'm 19 years old and if I make a mistake, I have to learn from it. I also had to tell myself that I had to stop doing things because people want me to, but because I want to. Sometimes you have to be selfish and not do things to make others happy, but to make yourself happy.
